Work From Home: The New Normal

There is no place like home! These famous words were written by John Howard Payne in his equally famous song “Home! Sweet home!”. Just like you, I love the smell of my home too. It’s so wonderful to stay in pajama’s all day long. In old times I’ll call some random days off just because I crave for this “homeliness”. Now with the work from home culture, gone are those days.

The pandemic has changed us a lot. Work from home has become the new normal because the wave of Covid-19 situations. It has led us to operate office remotely and allowed us to harness the power of technology. As your environment changes, workplace dynamics and ethics also seem to have a swift transition.

The Transmutation

The coronavirus pandemic has altered the long-coming misconception of work from home. Meeting in person has now been replaced by zoom video calls, skype calls and other virtual modes. (We have been enjoying virtual lunch parties too 😀 ).
Personnel gatherings at the workplace have now transformed into a hub and multi-spoke “hive” system. Since work from home is crucial nowadays, businesses are now totally focusing on their virtual environment and its efficiency.

for example –

  • Utilizing different technologies help the workforce to stay connected and conduct meetings without any disturbance to business.
  • You can see intensified use of cloud technology that enables online business processing.
  • To ensure sustainability in these trying times, keeping employees safe, informed, and guided is among employers’ topmost priorities.
  • Businesses are enhancing and upgrading their infrastructure to process efficient digital transformation.

We can be more productive and efficient in your comfortable settings. It enables a company to practice diversity by hiring personnel from different backgrounds.

I personally enjoy that just a few steps and I am right there in my office, no more long commute and hours long wait in traffic jams. Better work-life balance: An office that feels like home? Perfect! What else you want.

When the pandemic ends…

Today we are witnessing a whole lot of transformation, everything is changing with a speed faster than light. Usually change is not something everyone can admire or accept with pleasure, so that’s fine whether we like work from home culture or not. However we have learned to value our home more and respect our work equally.

The entire humanity is waiting for this pandemic to end. The current situation is demanding that we become more flexible, hopeful and moreover kind towards each other.

… because, who knows what the future holds!!
